Why do this meditation? 

Your body is your greatest resource for pleasure, wisdom and guidance. It is your instrument to not only tune into and understand the world around you, but also how you can most easily resource wisdom from a place of deep truth and love that is fully aligned with what is right for you. The language of your body is in sensation, emotion, pain, pleasure, or energy movement. Learning the language of your own body is an incredible and foundational resource for your life! 

I have created this meditation to help you learn, cultivate and strengthen your connection to the language of your own body, so you can access this wisdom at any time. You may discover amazing information by learning to actively ask for and listen to the guidance of your body around any issue, challenge, or physical situation you may have. It is also a powerful way to learn what would be most effective and nourishing for you to relieve stress, pain, or to aid in healing. 

I invite you to explore this meditation a few times, and then try it on your own without my guidance so you can get even more skilled and confident with this practice. Enjoy!

You will need:

⟴ 20 minutes of undisturbed time (15 minutes for the meditation, and 5 or more minutes to journal after)

⟴ a comfortable, warm, safe space - yoga mat, blanket or pillow if that would feel good

⟴ your journal and pen

⟴ if you desire, a candle, incense, flowers, or special object to create sacred space

Instructions:

You can follow along with the recording a few times, but then I invite you to do this meditation on your own and follow what feels best for you. When you set aside some daily time to reconnect in this way, you will build a stronger and stronger connection to your Body Wisdom and this communication will become clearer and more powerful over time. 

You can repeat this meditation any time you like, to connect to your inner source of wisdom and guidance, and you can also do this before bed to receive guidance in your dreams. 

 
 

A SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT BREATHING

If you have never done mindful breathing before, it is very normal to experience lightheadedness, tingling in your body, or even muscular contractions in your hands or feet. This is the result of bringing extra oxygen into the body, more than you are accustomed to in your normal day-to-day. It is also true that these symptoms can be a sign of stuck or old energy patterns in the body moving and being released and can be a sign of healing and coming back to wholeness. You may want to just keep breathing and relaxing deeply into these sensations…or...If this feels unpleasant for any reason, simply relax the breathing and return to your normal rhythm. You can pause the recording, or just continue with a more normal breathing pattern. Over time, your body will adjust to this deeper breathing pattern. If you are unsure, or have heart issues, epilepsy or a history of seizures, please consult with your doctor before starting any breathing practice.
